Speed read: Updating and designing new content sections / campaign with in the existing templated CMS of the Harley Medical Group's website.

In detail: While this was a principally straight forward retainer job, it presented a problem I call 'designing-in-the-box'. This is where the task is to create something a bit exciting as its a new campaign or initiative inside the shell of site which is set in stone. The HMG site is fully content managed. Each ptart of the site is a pre-formatted block of information, meaning when a new campaign launches the extent of the design work is limited to a long thin section in the middle of the page. This makes creating a new look and feel pretty difficult with out it clashing with the rest of the page. My approach to this was 'less is more', and used simple details such as neat round cornered imagery and simple rythmic blocks of type to break up the flow of information accross the page.
