Speed read: Re-design of the Alfa Romeo homepage for the launch of the new Giulietta sponsored by Uma Thurman.
In detail: The launch of the new Giulietta was a very big deal for alfa as it was the first mid-sized hatchback they had produced for a long time (the 147 & Mito are superminis I'm told). Image assets where awkwardly cropped and used different lighting sources, so some artworking was required to make the elements look natural on the page. Creating a page which followed the style conscious look of the rest of the site as well as complimented the print and TV campaigns was relatively straight forward for me. There where a couple of tricky areas, such as the promotional blocks in the upper right hand corner; typically the client was trying to fit more on the page than possible. I resolved this by designing 3 expanding sections which revealed the additional information on rollover without disrupting the rest of the design (pictured).
