My my.. how’d you write these things?!
Articulating, finding a difficult balance of formality, big-words, and hinting at some charisma. Well, I’ll go casual. If I can tempt you to the long haul, read down the page. If not check out the stuff on the right for the short n'sweet...

So far, so good: Having graduated in 2009 I've managed to keep myself pretty busy. I scored my first design job during a summer during my second year at uni whilst working in a call centre; walking through head office one day I noticed that a the in-house designer had left. The following Monday I asked if I could have a go, they said yes. I worked there for over two years, one of which was full time. Since then I've interned (The Sun, Time, Baseline, HDR), freelanced (private & agency), and held a permanent position in a London ad agency for a year (Grand Union). Things were starting to get serious, and before I could really commit to a job I decided to go traveling for 6 months and get it out of my system.. Back, refreshed and renewed I'm ready to pick it all back up.

Do!

Now I’ve heard a lot of people and company mission statements talking about trying to conquer Mount-creative awesome-ness, and swim the sea of unique-agile-product-delivery. 'TOO MUCH', I cry: A good idea or design should sell it's self, so the sooner you start actually start getting down to it and doing, the sooner a good piece of work can be produced. Design is for everyone to understand, not just for marketeers to string incredible sentences together in a dynamically risk taking way.

Design

Design is a functional, living breathing means of communication. Therefore I don’t believe in ‘making things look pretty’ for the sake of it. Every element of a design should have a purpose, style, and add to the overall integrity of a piece of work. When someone asks ''why have you done x,y,z", I can't think of anything worse than having to shrug and try and cuff it. That said I'm am open to be told I'm wrong, to do it again, and to be argued with. It's the only way to refine an idea and learn along the way.

Next

I'm freelancing at a few different agencies around London, playing the game untill maybe the right permanent job comes up. In the mean time if you are looking for a logo, branding, business cards, stationery, website, or just a chat, feel free to get in touch.
